summyze is an AI-powered reading assistant that helps users summarize and analyze PDF documents. The Service includes features such as PDF viewing, AI-generated summaries, LaTeX formatting support, and document library management.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.

You are responsible for safeguarding the password you use to access the Service and for any activities or actions under your password. You agree not to disclose your password to any third party.

4. User Conduct

When using our Service, you agree not to:

• Upload any material that infringes on intellectual property rights
• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or to violate any laws
• Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Collect or harvest any information from the Service without authorization
• Share your account or login credentials with others
• Upload malicious code or attempt to bypass security measures

5. Content and Copyright

Our Service allows you to upload, store, and analyze PDFs and other documents. You retain all rights to your content. By uploading content to our Service:

• You affirm that you have the legal right to upload and use the content
• You grant us a license to process, store, and analyze your content solely for providing the Service to you
• You understand that we do not claim ownership of your content
• You acknowledge that AI-generated summaries are derivative works based on your content

6. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding content provided by users), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of summyze and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

7. Data Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which can be found at /privacy. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of information as detailed in our Privacy Policy.

8. Subscription and Payments

Some features of the Service are offered on a subscription basis. By subscribing:

• You agree to pay all fees associated with your selected plan
• Billing occurs on a recurring basis according to your subscription plan
• You may cancel your subscription at any time, but no refunds will be issued for partial billing periods
• We reserve the right to change subscription prices with reasonable notice
• Student discounts require valid verification of student status

9. Free Tier Limitations

The free tier of our Service allows up to 10 page summarizations per week. We reserve the right to modify these limitations at any time. Users who provide their own OpenAI API key may bypass these limitations, with processing costs charged directly to their OpenAI account.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including but not limited to a breach of the Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

11. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall summyze, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service.

12. Accuracy of Information

The AI-generated summaries and analyses provided by our Service are created using artificial intelligence technologies. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that the AI-generated content will be error-free or suitable for any specific purpose. Users should verify important information through additional sources.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Switzerland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
